As an aspiring product manager in the AI era, I wanted to rethink how products are made. Simultaneously, my roommates and I have wanting to be more intentional about meal planning. Meet my first product designed with my full-stack AI workflow in mind: the Meal Planner Web App.
A live version of the app will be up on ChristianRuff.com soon. In the meantime, if you’d like to try the app (and steal some of my recipes), see README.md on GitHub.
Beyond a meal planning tool, this project also doubled as a sandbox for AI-native product building. I integrated OpenAI, Notion, and other backend logic to automate key PM workflows — from generating identifying features to develop to clustering insights into product requirements.
Integrate AI-generated meal plans tailored to user preferences, restrictions, and budgets.
Automate shopping list creation through grocery APIs and delivery services.
Add a nutrition and cost dashboard to help users make healthier, more efficient choices.
Extend the AI workflow framework to continuously propose and validate new product features.
